The CW president Dawn Ostroff has admitted that she is encouraged by the success of One Tree Hill DVD Box set.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ostroff gave hope to One Tree Hill DVD Box setfans about the possibility of an eighth season renewal.

"We're encouraged. We think [creator] Mark Schwahn has done a great job with the show. The fans are the most loyal and dedicated I think I've ever seen. They have some 1.6 million fans on Facebook."

She added: "Too early too tell [about a renewal], but creatively we feel the show is in a really good place."

Asked whether One Tree Hill DVD Box setwill be competing with Life Unexpected for a slot in the 2010-11 schedule, Ostroff would neither confirm nor deny.
